Philosophy:
A. Rapid Reproduction
The key is to do church in a way that is simple, attainable and reproducible. Students should be able to see church and reproduce church. If it's not reproducible, we don't do it.
B. Radical Discipleship
The Gospel must be preached with a message of complete obedience to Christ. Jesus Christ is Lord of all or none at all. We must emphasize Lordship to all.
C. Revolutionary & Organic
Campus Churches are non-establishment type of groups. Able to meet anywhere for church (café, dorms, homes, business offices, parks, malls etc.) Also, they are welcoming and embracing to those marginalized by the traditional church. They are organic in that they are flexible and adaptable to meet the needs and context of the students and community.
D. Raw
These campus churches will be more raw than glamorous. They will not focus on spectaculars (lighting, power point, theatrics) although they can be used. The aim is to keep church simple, spontaneous and led by the Holy Spirit. Rather, than focusing all our human/financial resources on producing extravagant hard to reproduce programs.
E. Relevant
In order to engage this generation we are to speak a message of true love that young people can understand. We must speak to the current needs and times of young people. No topic is too controversial and no truth is too difficult to explain. Yet, we are always unapologetically Biblical.
F. Real
Leadership must be authentic and transparent. We don't pretend to be more holy than we really are. We realize we are all in the process of growing. Accountability in relationships is essential. Character goes before gifting. Every leader should be able to say, "There is nothing in my life that I am doing that you don't know about." We also value the personal testimonies of believer's lives that have been changed as an authentic expression of a God transformed life to reach this generation.
G. Relational
Body life, community and discipleship are central to this movement. The majority of spiritual growth happens through mentoring friendships in small group communities, rather than leader lectured learning.
H. Revival & Release of Gifts
We are passionately seeking God in prayer, fasting and worship. We value signs, wonders and miracles as an effective tool to confirm the message of the Gospel to a postmodern generation. We embrace and encourage believers to use spiritual gifts. We believe in the active role of the Holy Spirit and the 9 revelatory gifts stated in 1 Corinthians 12 as an empowerment for effective ministry to confirm God's Word.
I. Reconnaissance & Warfare
Our battle is not against flesh and blood. Therefore we are active in spiritual warfare through spiritual mapping, prayer walking, regular prayer meetings and identification repentance. (Eph 6:10)
J. Renewal & Restoration
The renewing of the mind and restoration of the heart is critical to every believer. An inner healing and deliverance component is required for every new believer and emerging leader to be experienced. This is critical for their future wholeness, maturity and passionate pursuit of God.
K. Reel
Although we are not dependent on multimedia resources, we recognize their benefit as a relevant tool to communicate the Gospel. We will encourage using video, audio, drama and arts in a creative way as an expression of worship and effective outreach.
L. Recreational
Campus churches are not only focused on equipping and training, but also on fellowship. Hanging out, having fun and enjoying life together must be a part of Christian community. This could be done in specific activities like sports, movies, outings etc. Different campus churches can join together for planned fun events.
M. Royalty
We believe in the priesthood of all believers. Every believer is a leader and a potential church planter. Majority of pastors/workers are unpaid and bi-vocational. The success of a campus church planting movement is its deliberate empowerment and dependence on student lead lay leadership.
N. Ridiculous Giving
Ridiculous and hilarious giving was central to the early church of Acts. For they had all things in common, and sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as anyone had need. Giving above and beyond (more than 10%) is the goal in order to meet the needs of the poor and needy. A majority of the received tithes and offering will not go back into church expenses, but taking care of the poor.
O. Radical Holiness
Character is more important than gifting. We are to be above reproach and not compromising in all we say and do with the Bible as our standard. The goal is inside out holiness and ministry. Everyone is to be accountable to another and proper discipline is given to those who repeatedly violate God's standards.
P. Respect for Authority
Submission to authority is God's commandment Romans 13. We are to submit to those in authority over us, especially those laboring in God's work. Spiritual covering through Spiritual mothers and fathers are essential as each campus churches must be accountable to other campus churches and the regional apostolic leadership. (Mal 4:6)
Q. Regional Transformation
Transformation of regions and cities does not come through one congregation alone. Our aim is to work with other local churches in prayer and unity to see the transformation of entire communities.
R. Regular Bible Reading
The Bible is central to all Christian living. Disciples are expected to regularly study the Word for all scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. (2 Tim 3:16) The culture will be created for absolute obedience to God's Word and the Bible to be the center point of all teaching, by letting the Bible teach itself.
S. Repentance & Baptism
We follow the model recorded in the book of Acts 2:41 "Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that about three thousand souls were added to them." Repentance and baptism were almost simultaneous in the New Testament and we will pursue to baptize new believers as soon as they have repented of their sins and confessed Jesus Christ as Lord. Immediate baptism is essential so new converts commit and identify that their old nature is buried and their new nature is raised with Christ.
T. Receiving the Lord's Supper
Jesus commanded that we do this in remembrance of Him it is essential as followers of Christ that we celebrate the Lord's Supper as often as possible (Luke 22:14-20). We do this in order to remember His body that was broken and blood shed on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins. "For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death till He comes." (1 Corinthians 11:24-26)
U. Relentless Pursuit of God
Our pursuit of God individually and corporately is everything. This is the highest priority as all believers are encouraged and expected to seek God daily in spiritual disciplines (prayer, worship, warfare, fasting, meditation, scripture memorization, contemplation etc.) for the development of intimacy with Christ and for the empowerment of Christian service. It isn't about hearing God only through a Sunday sermon, rather every disciple is challenged continually with what are they hearing from the Head to fulfill God's purpose for their lives?
V. Reformation of Society
Revival is not complete, unless out of it comes the reforming of society. You can't have revival without reformation. Jesus commanded His Church to "disciple nations." Nations are made up of Government, business, education, sports, media etc. As a movement of Christ followers we are to transform every area of society/culture by being salt and light in the earth. We empower Christ-followers to have a vision to bring God's kingdom into every sector of society.
W. Restoration of the New Testament Church
God is coming back for a beautiful bride (Eph 5:27). The glorious New Testament Church will come to its fullness when the 5-fold ministry is activated upon the earth. "And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ." (Ephesians 4:11) The main role of 5-fold ministers in a church planting movement is to equip & empower the priesthood of believers to fulfill the Great Commandment & Great Commission.
X. Response to World Missions
The Great Commission is Christ's mandate for all believers to respond to. It is not an option to choose, it is a command to GO. The heart and passion in every campus church network is for students to go into all the world and make disciples of all nations. We start on the campuses of America with a vision to reach the campuses and un-reached people groups of the nations!
