Greetings-
I want to thank you all for the prayers you sent to us at UCSD for the outreach. It truly blessed us and we definitely sensed them while we were out on Library Walk. The moment we started off with prayer, you could send the presence of God and His favor on us. There was not only a spiritual open heaven, but literally the clouds left when we started the outreach, and closed up when we started to pack up! God’s so amazing!
[To briefly clarify, what we did this last Wed was amplified worship and preaching on the main walkway at UCSD to usher in the presence of God through worship… and to simply fulfill the Great Commission.]
To be honest, the fruit that was reaped came in an expected form for myself. We were crying out to God for fish, for souls, and what He seemed to stir was the hearts of the fishermen instead. I saw how His heart desires for us to work together in seeing our campus saved. The point where most of this breakthough occured, was when other believers and fellowships began to join us in our worship and evangelism. There was actually a student who came up to me just crying and weeping after I preached a short word on John 10:10, because she was so moved and encouraged to see God’s people rise up. Truly, it will not be the work of just a part of the body, but through the body being in one accord. When believers come together in Unity, there is the Lord’s blessing.
And I’m so encouraged to know that the Lord is stirring the hearts of the fishermen because that only means He’s readying us to catch a greater harvest!
On top of that, on a more personal note- after outreaches like these, I tended to feel ‘off’ or in this weird funk… but this time, I tell you it was just the opposite. There was an incredible joy that rested upon me throughout the day… and I laugh just thinking about the Lord’s faithfulness!
VISION: what I hope and pray this will become is a way where we can truly bring the church to the people, out in the main walkway. We had worship, we had preaching,.. prayer, believers, the presence of God… and really all that was left was souls coming into the kingdom. I truly believe that as we do this on a consistent basis, and if we continue to persevere in not only ‘planned’ times of EV, but in walking in obedience day to day, believers will be stirred and we will reap an abundant harvest for the Kingdom of God together.
Praise Him!!
Taking the kingdom by force,
Sharon Narita
